For the month of February (Black History Month), we are learning that it doesn't matter how we look on the outside. It is the inside that matters. An activity that I have Group 1 doing is splitting the class by green and blue wrist bands. Group 2 will be doing the same activity next week. They are learning that if one group is treated differently just because they wear the color green that it is not fair to the other group who is wearing the color blue. Here is a video on how one of the students explained how the separation is unfair.
In the end, the students were happy because they realized that they are truly blessed to have friends with differences. Blue or green does not matter. Love is all that matters.
